EUPAVE & FEBELCEM celebrate the end of the year with Concrete Road Contractors

On Tuesday 16 December, EUPAVE and FEBELCEM hosted their annual year-end gathering for concrete road contractors and EUPAVE Partners at the Van der Valk Hotel in Antwerp. The event combined an informative session with engaging presentations, discussions, and concluded with a dinner.

The program began with a welcome and introduction by Luc Rens, Technical Director of EUPAVE, setting the scene for the evening’s discussions.

Key presentations included:

• Wietze Claesen, Technical Advisor at OCW: Shared practical field experiences, highlighting how the right choices in planning and execution can prevent common problems.
• Dr. Anne Beeldens, Consulting Engineer at AB-Roads: Discussed transitions between concrete and other pavements, offering insights on design and construction best practices.
• Ruben Delvaeye, Infrastructure & Sustainability, FEBELCEM: Provided updates from the Belgian cement industry, including trends and sustainability initiatives.
• Luc Rens, EUPAVE: Presented on “Changes” in the concrete paving sector, examining developments both in Belgium and abroad.

The evening concluded with a fine dinner, where attendees continued networking and exchanging ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

The event was a great success, reinforcing collaboration across the concrete paving industry and providing a perfect opportunity to close the year on a high note.
